Question:
How much battery do I need to run this overnight? I’ve got a 100Ah AGM in my 2004 truck with truck bed Camper Hawk.

Melissa, great setup. The Velit RV Heaters like the gas model # VE46QV and diesel model # VE66QV draw about 30 watts (~2.5 amps) on average. Over a 10-hour night, that adds up to around 25Ah. With a 100Ah AGM battery (~50Ah usable safely), you can expect 2 nights of use before needing to recharge.
If you’re often parked more than two nights, pairing it with a small solar panel or a DC-DC charger while driving would keep your battery topped up. Are you using shore power much, or mainly boondocking off-grid?
Other camper owners, how many nights are you stretching your battery with a heater like this?
