Question:

Hello, I am looking at getting a Weigh Safe Weigh Distribution hitch Which one would you recommend. I just purchased a Stealth Nomad 22FK toy hauler bumper pull / camper. Tongue Weight empty specs say 974 GVWR is 9,990 Empty Weight 6,495 my utv that I will load in it is 2,000 My vehicle is a 2009 Chevy 2500HD with a 6.0 gas motor to pull the camper. It has a hitch that i can either use a 2 1/2 or 2inch with reducer I sold my old weigh hitch with my other camper. It was a Husky centerline TS WDH that had a 9inch / rise bracket. Which weigh safe true tow weight distribution hitch would you recommend.?

Hey Mark, thanks for providing all the details!

I see you ordered the 18.5K Weigh Safe True Tow Weight Distribution Hitch (WDH) # WS49MR. This might be a little heavy for your application, but if you have your trailer weighed down to the GVWR and a 15% tongue weight you should be fine.

I am a little interested that you went with a WDH with a 6" drop when your old WDH had a 9" drop/rise. Does your new camper sit higher than your old camper?

Hey Mark, I'm curious if the 18.5K Weigh Safe True Tow WDH worked well for your setup with the Stealth Nomad toy hauler. Did the 6-inch drop fit your needs, or did you find any issues with the height difference compared to your old setup? I'm asking to see if your experience could help others in a similar situation.

@JonG. The hitch has worked actually great. I could have gotten by with the lighter size for sure. Your personnel before you replied stated never hurts to go bigger so that’s why I did. The 6” drop / rise has worked also. I could have done the 3-5 “ one. I really like the ability to dial in the weight.
