Which Hitch is Best for my 2025 Kia Telluride

Updated 11/04/2025 | Published 10/29/2025

Question:

Hello, I have a 2025 Kia Telluride SX-Prestige X-Line and am trying to get the best hitch to install. I watched the video for this install and it doesnt involve cutting the trim at all. I like this option, but wonder if there are any negatives to this particular hitch over the etrailer one. I appreciate the assistance.

Thanks for reaching out, Ryan.

There are a few differences between the hitches. The B&W hitch part # BW82PR has a slightly higher towing capacity but the ground clearance is less. You will have 11-3/4" ground clearance with the B&W but the etrailer hitch part # e45ZR sits higher so will give you 13-1/2" of ground clearance.

If you're okay with the lower ground clearance to prevent needing to do trimming, the B&W would be a great option. What are you planning on using the hitch for?

Thanks for the answer Gwendolyn! I will only be using with a cargo carrier, or bike rack. Mostly it would be on regular roads, with the odd rough Vermont driveway being the most off-roading adjacent. It is definitely a tricky decision. My brother-in-law has a regular hitch on his 2021 where he had to notch the fascia and it looks perfectly fine.

@RyanD If you don't have a rack/cargo carrier yet, most if not all curve upwards and will give you more ground clearance for the bottom of the rack. It sounds like you won't have many issues with ground clearance based off what you've shared. I will say if there is a really steep driveway at all, having any amount of additional ground clearance is a MUST. Do you already have a bike rack and cargo carrier or browsing those as well?
