Question:

I have a 2024 Ford Maverick hybrid. I want to flate tow with my Ford 350 6.7 . I have a truck camper on it. Are my stares going to interfere with the tow bar. Will I be able to lower my stares. What is the best set up Thanks

Hey Frank. If you can access your hitch then the stairs are not going to interfere with the tow bar. I would have extremely low expectations on lowering them though with your tow bar connected. I've never seen an in bed camper that didn't have the stairs directly in the middle over the hitch.

What is the distance between the hitch pin hole of your F-350's hitch and the back end of your camper and what size hitch receiver do you have? You can add this information and any other questions you have where it says Reply to Jerred H and I'll be happy to answer them.

To flat tow your 2024 Ford Maverick Hybrid you'll need the following parts:

Tow Bar and Safety Chains - Blue Ox Ascent Non-Binding Tow Bar item # BX4370 for 2" Receiver or item # BX4375 for 2-1/2" Receiver

Base Plate Kit - Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms item # RM97RR

Wiring Harness - Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit item # RM-15267

Charge Line - Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles item # RM-156-25

Supplemental Braking System - SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System item # SM99251 or item # SM99243 if your motorhome has air brakes

Brake Light Relay - Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles item # RM-88400

High Low Adapter - The tow bar needs to be within 3" of level. If you measure the height of the inside top of the hitch receiver tube on your RV, and the height difference is more than 3 inches above/below the base plate tab height, you'll need a high/low adapter. I have linked a FAQ article that explains all this in more detail along with our selection of adapters.

@Frank That's great so a 3" receiver. The 48" TorkLift Cannon Hitch Extension item # TLE1648 is too long to use with Blue Ox tow bars like item # BX4370 for 2" Receiver or item # BX4375 for 2-1/2" receiver. You'll void the warranty with anything over 13.5". You'll need to use a tow bar like the Roadmaster BlackHawk 2 All-Terrain item # RM-422, and safety cables like item # RM-645-76, along with a 7-way extender like item # TLW6048. Additionally, according to Roadmaster the safety cables must connect the towing vehicle to the towed vehicle, frame to frame. This means you'll need to add a extension to your item # RM-645-76 safety chains. You'll want the Blue Ox 3' Permanent Base Plate Safety Cables - 5,000 lbs - Qty 2 item # BX88207.
