Uneven campsites or gravel pads can make disconnecting a real chore, but the Avail takes the fight out of it. Each arm has a built-in non-binding lever that releases the internal locks with one press, even when the bar is under tension. The self-supporting, telescoping arms extend from 42-1/4" to 52", lock automatically when you pull forward, and then release cleanly when it’s time to unhook. The swivel head joint lets the bar twist left and right so alignment isn’t critical, saving time and frustration when things aren’t perfectly level.
Tight campground corners and gas station loops are less stressful thanks to the Avail’s extra-long arms. At full 52" extension, they give more distance between vehicles, creating a wider turning radius and smoother tracking through curves. Whether threading through city streets or winding mountain roads, the added reach keeps the setup steady and predictable.
This tow bar is a solid piece of gear designed for serious loads. With a 10,000-lb weight capacity and heavy-duty steel construction, it’s built for years of towing without flex or wobble. The powder-coated finish resists corrosion, and rubber sleeves protect the inner arms from dirt and debris so everything keeps sliding smoothly trip after trip. A triple-lug bracket setup gives an extra-secure connection to the base plate, which means more confidence when you’re rolling down the highway.
The included 7' coiled safety cables are rated to match the 10,000-lb tow rating and stay up off the ground where they belong. Spring-loaded latches keep the hooks locked in place, and the vinyl coating keeps them from scratching or rusting. With the cables managed neatly and built right into the system, there’s less clutter and no dragging hardware behind the RV.
When it’s time to park, the Avail folds up on the back of the RV for simple, secure storage. Just push the arms together, swing them to either side, and the built-in bracket holds it in place. It stays mounted, out of the way, and ready for the next leg of the journey—no heavy lifting or separate storage needed.
Flat towing can be a much more convenient way to take your car RVing with you than using a trailer or a tow dolly. It'll save you storage space both at home and at the campsite, and it takes less time and hassle to hook up.
To flat tow your vehicle, there are 5 basic components you're going to need: a tow bar, a base plate kit, a safety cable set, tow bar wiring, and a flat tow braking system.

The custom-fit base plate installs on the frame of your toad so you can connect the car to your RV with a tow bar. Hook up safety cables between the vehicles to ensure that the toad does not separate from the motorhome if the tow bar becomes detached. Tow bar wiring syncs your vehicle's signal lights with your motorhome's tail lights, as required by law in most states. Finally, the flat tow braking system - also required in most states - activates the brakes in the toad when you hit the brakes in the RV, making for smoother, safer braking, and preventing wear on your motorhome.

Will never buy anything from e trailer again, and I was only half way thru with my build. Order an item at 6 pm and 8 am the next morning it’s cheaper and e trailer said oh well to bad. I’m done with this place.
Tow bar is fine . This is my 3rd blue ox tow bar over the last 20 years. They all came with a cover included except this one . Blue ox recommends covering it when not in use but has decided not to include the cover anymore.

We had a towbar failure while on the road. Luckily it failed as we stopped at grocery store and not on the highway.
I was able to order a new Blue Ox 10k rated towbar and had it shipped to our next campground. We only had to drive two hours disconnected.
RV hitch rated for 8K, SUV is 5400 lbs + contents so a 10K rated towbar and cables gave us piece of mind of being the most robust component of our towing setup.

The new Blue Ox towbar is working great. No issues.
The product works wonderfully. My only issue is that it doesn’t come with a storage cover and you would think for the amount of money I spent it would. I am using the one Roadmaster gave me on my old tow bar.

The tow bar and electrical cord was delivered, got it installed. I am waiting for the brake system it also was to be delivered today. I sure hope it gets here I paid the extra shipping so we could be ready to pull out as soon as all the order was delivered.
The set screws for the release handles were not on the tow bar causing one release handle to come off and the other inoperative. I spoke to Blue Ox and they over nighted a brand new one to me along with postage paid return label.
Have had no issues with this. Easy to set up and disconnect. Works flawlessly.
Easy to install, easy to hitch up. I feel very safe having this set up

Replaced our failing 12-year-old Blue Ox tow bar. Discovered the problem in the middle of our current trip. Fortunately, it did not fail while towing our car down the highway. etrailer did a wonderful job of getting the new towbar to us fast. We couldn't ask for better service. The new towbar was a direct replacement for the older model.

I’ve had many other tow bars that claim to be non-binding, but the Blue Ox is truly a non-binding tow bar and works great with our 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
