Do You Carry a Axle Rated for 3,500 with Hub Face to Hub Face of 94", of do I Need the 95"?

Question:

Looking for a pair of 3500 lb axles spring center is 80 inches and from what I am measuring looks like 94 inches hub face. I don’t remember them being oddball size. I have replaced the hubs in the past. Is 94 what I need or is it possible they are 95 inch?

Hello Robert,

I would double check the measurement. I know that Dexter does make a 94" Hub Face that we do not carry for some reason. I attached an image showing where exactly to measure, or if the axle tag is still on there, feel free to send me a picture by replying directly to the email that you receive so I can take a look.

If you end up coming up with 95", then then our Trailer Axle w/ Electric Brakes - Easy Grease - 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern - 95" Long - 3,500 lbs # e52SR would be a great fit, or if you need a 4" drop # e45SR. Both of these axles will come with new hubs and brakes as well. If you need just the axle, then the # e93GR you were looking at will be the one.

What kind of trailer is this going on? Please let me know what measurement you come up with after you double check.

They are going on what is called an economy car hauler. I believe 95 might be the measurement with that little bump out of hub. Difficult to get to with tires on.

@RobertW Yeah, that’s why I suggested double-checking, a 1/2" difference on either side isn’t much, but it can make a big difference. I’ve attached a help article that explains the measurement process. If you can measure from the outside of one brake flange to the outside of the other, you can then add 6" for a typical 3,500 lb axle to estimate the correct hub face distance. Unfortunately, I can’t attach a photo in a comment, so you’ll need to refer to the article to see the measurement diagram I’m talking about. If you have any questions, please let me know.
