Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we'll take a look at the replacement Half Inch Retaining Pins for the Blue Ox Tow Bars. This is for a quantity of two pins. Now these pins will secure your Blue Ox tow bar to your base plate brackets using these half inch retaining pins and the linchpin clips. Now these are designed to fit the Blue Ox tow bars.
The diameter, again, on these pins is a half an inch. The usable length that would be measured from here to where the pin goes in, if we put a ruler on that, you'll be able to see it is right at two and a half inches. And it is for a quantity of two pins with the linchpin clips. Now if you notice, on the linchpin clips, they do have a warning attached to it. And basically what that warning is, is they're wanting to let you know that this pin, when you install, needs to be closed.
They call this the nose of it. So when you close this, you need to close this towards that nose to be able to lock it in place. But that should do it for a look at the replacement Half Inch Retaining Pins for your Blue Ox Tow Bars.

Too expensive for what's in the package, but I needed them so I bought them.
this replacement set of hitch pins are hard to find & we're happy etrailer had them instead of the kind with the spring ball (no clip) type. no thanks...we have more peace of mind with the clips. be sure to use them correctly & check for wear from all the friction. our pins are actually much shorter than the ones we got but they will still work. we have an old aventa (original model) from blue ox & replacement parts are hard to find. with the new lug systems, the pins have to be longer (ours is a single) but at least we can still use this solid & very reliable tow system for bringing our jeep wrangler along when we go camping.

Somehow our retaining pin came out while towing our F-150 behind our Motorhome. I noticed it while refueling at a Love’s! I was able to find two Masterlocks at the truck stop, however, the long term solution is the retaining pins. ETrailer came through with 2nd day delivery!
