Question:

What is the difference between RED74CR and RED53CR? I want to get the Redarc Brake Controller for my 2025 Honda Pilot with factory tow package and wiring. I cant see any difference in the two page descriptions. Thanks, Lowell

Hello Lowell, thanks for reaching out, and great question. Both the part numbers you mentioned, the Redarc # RED74CR and # RED53CR are listed as a fit for the 2025 Honda Pilot with the factory tow package. Even the Redarc website shows both parts and does not differentiate why there are two different plugs listed for the same vehicle. I wish I could tell you exactly why there are two plugs listed but at this point I am honestly not sure.

Your best option here will be to find the factory brake control port under your dash and see what it looks like. I will provide pictures of both plugs for you below. So just select your controller based on which plug matches. You can see they are shaped and pinned differently so it should be pretty easy to tell which one you need.

Reply on this page and let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.

Hey Lowell, did you have a chance to check the factory brake control port under your dash and compare it with the pictures I provided? I'm eager to know if you found the right plug for your Redarc Brake Controller, as it could help others with a similar setup.
