Hey Miles, thanks for reaching out!

You'll need the TruRyde Electric Trailer Brakes # TRU36FR along with 2 of the Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K in order to get your tow dolly equipped with electric braking capabilities.

Attached are some videos for you to check out!

Do you already have a brake controller?

Thank you and Yahweh bless you for responding so quickly this morning. Is there a pre-greased and packed option that comes all as one package (electric brakes assembly WITH the hub/drum) so it all delivers at the same time? Yes, I got the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Electric Brake controller in the end. I just noticed that you put in your reply:"...2 of the Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum" - are you saying $XX only gets ONE drum and I would have to purchase two of them? That is a great deal more expensive than some of the others on etrailer.com. So as per previous message, I am still keen to know if there is an alternative to your suggestion that is a pre-greased and packed option that comes all as one package (left and right electric brakes assembly WITH 2 trailer brake drums - i.e. ONE FOR EACH brake assembly) - so that it all delivers at the same time and at a better price?

@MilesF There aren't any kits that come all-inclusive with both the hub/drum and the trailer brakes. The only hub/drum cheaper than the one I referenced is the Kit # AKHD-545-35-K which comes with the standard grease cap instead of the standard and the EZ-Lube grease caps. You can still use it, you just won't have the rubber plug on the cap to give you easy access to the zerk fittings. You will still need 2 of these for your setup.

@JonG Good morning Jon, OK, I am just about convinced to get the TruRyde Electric Trailer Brakes # TRU36FR along with 2 of the Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K. I have 3 questions before ordering - *please* answer all three: 1. As these drums come already packed and greased, can you please tell me the what they are greased with (make and grade/temperature rating of grease etc.) as I may have to apply more? 2. Once assembled on the trailer, is there a requirement to fit a grease gun to the axle Superlube zerk fitting and pump more grease so that it flows into the cavity behind the dust cover rubber cap? 3. Please can you provide a link to a comprehensive installation video on etrailer.com for these 10" - 5 on 4-1/2 drums (or similar)? Thank you and blessings.

@MilesF That hub/drum is packed with Lithium complex, multipurpose grease - so to replace it you can use the # L11315. I'm not sure what the temp rating is. There isn't a requirement. The EZ-Lube grease zerk fitting is just a quick and easy way to add some more grease if you know it's needed. The best practice is to remove and re-grease the hub and bearings once every season, and if you just throw in a bunch of grease, you run the risk of blowing out the grease seal in the back. We've got a great video where Dave goes over the entire hub replacement process and I'm linking it to this reply for you to check out.
