Question:
Hi Etrailer, I have a 2025 Toyota Rav4 XSE. Do you have a hitch that works with the kick lift gate open function? Would I have to modify the sensor or bumper to install it? Thanks Joe

Hello Joe, thanks for reaching out. Any aftermarket hitch you add to your 2025 Toyota RAV4 XSE is going to potentially interfere with the lift gate sensor. In some cases, the sensor will still work if you wave your foot on either side of the receiver, but in some cases the sensor will not work at all. The placement and angle of these sensors is not as consistent as you would thing, which is why I cannot give you a firm yes or no answer.
That said, if you want to keep the lift gate function, your best option for a hitch will be the Oris Detachable Hitch # TS66VR. It has a removable receiver so when you are done towing, you can take it off and leave the sensor obstruction free. The hitch has a 2" receiver 3,500 lb towing and 350 lb tongue weight capacity.
If you intend to tow a trailer, you will also need the Curt T-Connector # C56434.
I hope this helps answer your question. If there is anything else I can help with feel free to leave a comment and I will get back to you.

Hey Joe, how did things go with the Oris detachable hitch on your RAV4 XSE? Did the lift gate sensor still work when you removed the receiver? Your update could make it easier for others with the same setup.
