What Wiring do I Need for My 2011 Volvo XC90 in Order to Use the Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller

Im trying to figure out if I should get the etbc7 or etbc7L for my 2011 volvo xc90. I already own the echo brake controler and I will be installing a 4 way wiring harness. I need to go to a 7 way plug to pull a utility trailer that has lights on the inside.

Great question. For your 2011 Volvo XC90 you are correct that you will want to start with the 4-flat wiring, the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56045 will be a great fit. Since you already own the Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller # C51180, you will want to build off of the 4-flat with the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 12 Gauge Wires # ETBC7L.

I attached an install video on a Volvo (the only one we had was on a 2018) so you can see what kind of install you are getting yourself into.
