Question:
Hello, I am trying to carefully calculate exactly how this install has impacted my cargo/payload rather than just the towing/tongue weight capability. Can you please tell me the weight of this receiver: e42TR class III for my subaru outback 2015? additionally, I want to add a ball hitch with a swaybar attachment that ALSO has a dual receiver so I can keep my bike rack above the trailer ball. The best I’ve been able to figure is getting a regular ball hitch that has another 2” receiver above it something like the Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount with 2inch Receiver for Bike Racks and Cargo Carriers, MPG544, and and then adding a swaybar attachment point to that. I do not see any single piece of kit that will do all of those things. Any advice here? I need as little as possible with a hitch receiver above it for the bikes, and the swaybar attachment point. Thank you! Kevin

Hey Kevin, the etrailer hitch part # e42TR that you referenced weighs 27 lbs but since this essentially becomes a part of the vehicle chassis it's weight does not end up going against the payload of the vehicle.
For a dual hitch setup that can use friction sway control like the part # 83660 what you'd want is the dual ball mount part # D210 and then have a sway bar bracket attached under the hitch ball with the part # RP26003. Do you have a bike rack already?
