Question:

Hi, We just bought a 2024 Ford Mustand Mach-e Premium model. We need a two-inch tow hitch for the rack for our two bikes. What tow hitch would you recommend? Thank you

Hey Jean congrats on the new Mustang! For a hitch, I'd suggest going with the EcoHitch Class 3 Trailer Hitch # EH66SR. EcoHitch makes a really good product, so I have zero doubts it'll work great for you. This hitch also has a 2" receiver, a 525 lb tongue weight rating, and a 3,500 lb towing capacity; all of the hardware is included as well.

What kind of bikes do you have? Please feel free to drop a comment and let me know if there is anything else I can do to help!

Hey Jean, how did the EcoHitch Class 3 hitch work out on your Mustang Mach‑E? Did it handle your bike rack the way you hoped? Your feedback could really help others looking for a similar setup.

Hi, We did order the EcoHitch Class 3 for our 2024 Mustang Mach-E. We had our local body shop install the hitch, and it works great for carrying our two road bikes. We're very satisfied! The hitch fits perfectly and is easy to use -- and it's extremely solid and sturdy. On my wish list, though, in hind sight: I wish it had been easier to get clearer specifications on the various hitch choices, such as the distance of a given hitch, once installed, from the ground (clearance), and how far a particular hitch's receiver extends out from the back of the car. Knowing those measurements (hard to find) would have made it easier to ascertain in advance that we'd have a good fit with our bike rack. For example, if the receiver does not extend far enough out from the back of the car, the pedals of a mounted bike on the attached rack can be too close to the car, potentially scraping against the back of the car. In our case, everything worked out fine in terms of fit, but there was definitely some guess work and finger crossing involved -- since we were unsure about exact measurements until we got and installed the hitch.

@JeanW Glad to hear it's working well for you! I hear you about your concerns though. We typically have measurements like that in either our videos or our Q&As, but we haven't had a chance to install one of these yet. We rely on people bringing their vehicles in to our installers for videos and that's where we get a lot of info and content for stuff like this. Hopefully we get one in soon so we can help take the guessing out for people down the road! But in the mean time, just let us know if there is anything else we can help with! : )
