Hey Chris, good question. I went over the owners manual for the 2024 Ford Maverick Hybrid. The manual clearly states that for the Hybrid model, dinghy towing (with all 4 wheels on the ground) is the preferred and recommended towing method. The manual does state the vehicle can be dolly towed (front wheels off the ground) for emergency purposes, but only for emergencies and not for recreation. For recreational towing, you will want to stick with dinghy towing with a base plate and tow bar.

Here are the recommended parts for a full flat tow setup:

- etrailer Invisible Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # e64FV

- etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar - RV Mount - 2" Hitch - 6,000 lbs # e34ZR

- Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles - 7-Way to 6-Way Coiled Adapter Cord # RM-15267

- Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25

- Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Hydraulic Brakes - Proportional # SM99251

- Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-88400

That will cover all of the main components. The Charge line and relay kit are requirements. As with any flat tow setup please check your owners manual and thoroughly read and understand all info related to recreational towing. Feel free to reach out and comment below with any questions.

Hey Chris, how did things go with setting up your Maverick Hybrid for flat towing behind your motorhome? Your experience could point others in the right direction who are deciding between dolly and dinghy towing.
