Is Aluminum Liger Trailer Wheel LH49FR Compatible With Ford OEM TPMS Sensors?

Published 01/09/2025

Question:

Thinking about purchasing these wheels for our TT based on an answer to the question below. Looking to install the Ford TPMS kit for our TT. Ford states the following regarding the TPMS Sensors: sensors only fit wheels with J-type flange wider then 3.5in and a0.452in valve stem hole. Are these wheels compatible with the Ford TPMS sensors? Thanks in advance.

Hey John, thanks for reaching out. We have been getting this question a lot recently about the Ford TPMS sensors. I went out to our warehouse and measured the valve stem hole on the Aluminum Liger Trailer Wheel # LH49FR. I can confirm that it uses the 0.452 valve stems so this will be compatible with the Ford TPMS sensors.

Thanks for the quick response.. I don't know what the J-type flange means but I'll gamble for didn't use something that would fit a limited number of TT wheels. But then again it is Ford.

@JohnK Im gonna be honest John, I am not 100% sure what they mean by J-flange. Not a term I am familiar with but I think they are referring to the shape of the bead seat and I think that J-flange style of wheel just indicates a tubeless tire and wheel which the # LH59VR are. In the past it seems like Ford just doesn't want you to use their sensors on oversized wheels/tires with higher PSI ratings which is why they say only to use with the smaller size valve stem. Pretty typical ford nonsense lol. Let me know if there is anything else you need.
