Can 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500 with Lift Install Firestone Air Bag Kit

Updated 04/21/2025 | Published 12/19/2024

Question:

Hello. I was looking into buying a Air Bag system to haul a 5th wheel i just bought. I was wondering if you could help out with the measurements. Its a 06 gmc sierra 2500hd. Lifted . Not sure the lift height. I bought the truck like that. How can I properly measure it. And do you know what the stock height is on these trucks. Thanks. Also do you have a kit that has the bags included in the kit. I was looking and couldnt find one.

Hey Fili, so we do have solutions for air bag kits on trucks that are lifted like yours but it comes down to knowing by how much the vehicle was lifted to pick out the correct spacer.

So what is your best solution is to go with a Firestone air bag kit like the part # F2250 and then measure the distance between the Firestone brackets once they are installed.

Bracket Spacing (in.)
6.5 to 7.5-inches use spacer # F2536
7.5 to 8.5-inches use spacer # F2366
8.5 to 9.5-inches use spacer # F2367
9.5 to 10.5-inches use spacer # F2370

Worth mentioning is that towing a fifth wheel trailer with a lifted truck gets pretty tricky. It makes it hard to tow the trailer level without having the overhang of the trailer hit the truck side rails. You need to have at least 6 inches of clearance between the overhang and the truck bed rails. Most of the time it's just easiest to go back to stock ride height. Especially if the lift is over a couple inches.

@Fili Hey I am really sorry about this response. We were trying to figure out why we were having issues and I accidentally used your question page as a test page and once it went out we couldn't figure out how to get back to it. I'm glad you messaged back though as that allowed me a way to track it down. @JamesonC , Hello James . So i would have to order the bag kit first. Measure between the air bag brackets once they are installed. That will determine the spacer size.

@JamesonC Also , do you have a kit with the compressor as well. All one kit. I'd like the wireless kit. Thanks .
