When you’re hauling a big camper, trailer, or bed full of tools, the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs give your suspension the extra muscle it needs. With up to 5,000 lbs of load-leveling capacity, these double-convoluted air springs keep your vehicle level when the load gets heavy. They help even out weight on the rear axle so steering, braking, and handling stay predictable instead of nose-high and light. You’ll notice steadier control whether you’re towing, hauling, or both.
Different loads call for different suspension stiffness. These air springs adjust manually between 5 psi and 100 psi so you can tailor the ride to match what you’re carrying. Pump them up for heavy trailers or a full bed to eliminate squat and maintain an even stance. Drop the pressure when unloaded for a smoother, more comfortable drive. Separate inflation valves let you adjust side to side for off-center loads to keep everything balanced and stable across uneven cargo or weight distribution.
The Firestone Ride-Rite system works with your factory suspension to absorb road shock and soften contact between the axle and frame. The rubber springs use a four-layer reinforced construction with a braided wire girdle that forms their double-convoluted shape. This design increases burst pressure and provides strong support without harshness. Each spring is crimped into corrosion-resistant metal end plates using a rolled seal that keeps everything airtight mile after mile.
Each kit includes brackets, hardware, airlines, and separate manual inflation valves so you can set up your system without hunting down extra parts. The custom-fit brackets mount between the frame and rear suspension to create stable support points for the air bags. Drilling may be required depending on application, but once installed you’ll have a dependable setup that prevents sagging, smooths out bumps, and keeps your vehicle level under heavy loads for years of service.

These air bags are a must for carrying a load to make your truck handle better. Empty, I run at 5 lbs and only change I notice is the truck rides about a inch higher.
The install went real smooth with the directions easy to under stand.
Shipping was very fast and communication to let me know how and when the package was to arrive.

05 Dodge 3/4 ton. Makes a big difference in handling with a camper. I run 5 lbs when unloaded and 15 lbs to haul a ton of pellets for the stove. No sag what so ever.

Great product 1-1/2 installation!
On time shipment in perfect condition as expected with etrailer. The unit installed in 1.5 hours with very basic hand tools. If you have a lift you could do it in under an hour by cutting down on the time crawling in and out from under the truck. I have experimented with it and it works great, needs 65psi to bring my 2011 Ram 2500 Diesel with my 14,000lb 5th wheel hooked up back up to the same fender height as when unloaded. If you watch the etrailer installation video you will only need to briefly reference the instructions during your installation. Hope it lasts for many years!!

One year of heavy 5th wheel towing has went great and this product is amazing. Night and day difference in ride and handling when towing!
Install was about an hour. 15 minutes putting stuff together on the bench and 30 min under truck installing. Another 15 min to tidy up afterwards. Installed on a 2009 Dodge 3/4 ton 4x4 megacab.
I pull a jeep and all my stuff usually but finally bought a truck camper. It and all my stuff was lowering my bed 3-4" at the hitch. I've already got a 2" leveling kit so the load really made it look heavy but I am loaded to within legal tolerances. The air raised it right up to level. Really rides nice and my headlights aren't pointed to the sky.

Weve made multiple trips with my rear axle carrying a considerable load. The air bags work great and Id highly recommend them to anybody.
This was a fantastic addition to my 2010 Dodge Ram 3500 Mega Cab 4x4. It has allowed me to raise/lower my truck while hauling, increased my bed load and pin weight while pulling 5th wheel and gooseneck trailer, and has eliminated sway while pulling a trailer with my weight distribution hitch. This has overall increased my drive stability and safe hauling capacity. Was a much a better buy and better decision in my mind then adding extra "helper" leaf springs which would have changed my ride permanently and would not have given me the flexibility to change back to a regular setup when not hauling or towing. With these you can go as low as 10lbs or as much as 100lbs of psi, thus giving you a lot more of different options than a fixed helper-leaf spring would....without the stiffer ride when not hauling or towing anything.

Thanks for the follow up David. I would like to caution you that this air bag kit is not intended to increase the hauling capacity of your truck. Please make sure that you are within the towing capacities of your truck.
Seem to work great . Will test them in two weeks when I hook up the fifth wheel. Went on very easy. The wife and I put them in to 2 1/2 hours .
I have purchased several items from etrailer and always impressed with their accuracy and speed of delivery. They have high shipping costs to Alaska so have not been able to use them except when in the lower 48.
Installed on a 1-ton Dodge dually used to either carry a 4600 lb truck camper, pull a 11000 pound fifth wheel or tow a 10000 trailer. The truck camper really sat the truck on the axle and the recently installed Timbrens made matters even worse. When I hit a dip or bump it sounded like there were no springs what so ever. Installed the air springs and now I get a much improved ride and have not bottomed out to date. I installed the air springs in Oregon and drove to Homer Alaska over some pretty rough roads. Great ride!!!

I still have the highest opinion of the air shocks! Been many miles and always loaded. Not one time have I had to add air and perform the same as they did when I first put them on. These shocks really tamed the load. Would not own a large truck camper without them.
When another company failed you guys came through fast and a every helpful staff. I will recommend everyone I know to etrailer!
Ordering something for a 22 year old truck and getting a well made and supplied kit is amazing. Installation was a breeze. Everything fit perfect. I am very happy with the airbag kit for my 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 4 Wheel Drive.
Gear product! Installation very easy and went just like explained on video! Very pleased with product, installation ease, and how I am able to level truck out when towing. :-)
After using this product for well over a year all I can say is two thumbs up. I pull a very heavy 3 horse trailer with living quarters and these Firestone airsprings really get the job done. Without a load I run them about 20#. Bump that up to 60# and it's all good towing my horse trailer even on some of Arizona's less than perfect roads. Just back from a trip to the north rim of the Grand Canyon and the road north of Flagstaff gives any truck hauling a load a real workout.
Great product, this is the second truck I have used Firestone's air springs on and I will surely get another set when I get my next truck (very soon)!

If the roads are still the same from when I was a kid, the roads from the Valley to Flagstaff sure were treacherous! I'm glad that the airbags helped with the drive!
I watched the installation video 3 times and then installed your air bags on my 2004 Dodge Ram pickup in about 2 hours. The hardest part was working on my back underneath the truck. Excellent product and the video made all the difference! Thank you.
I purchased this kit for my 2012 Ram 2500. This is my first kit. I bought it because I have a 8.5 x 24 enclosed trailer and any help With supporting the load the better. The instructions are clear and it was extremely simple to install. I purchased this over the phone and I can say the customer service was top notch. I would definitely buy from etrailer again.
The etrailer team earns 5 stars again! The product is worth 5 stars (so far, just installed it so time will tell.) The install was easy and product seamed very sturdy. However, the 2003 Ram V10 install procedure should be the same as the diesel procedures. The instructions say "gas this way, diesel this way." The V10 leaf spring U-Bolt is the same width as the diesel. When I went to install it with gas instructions, V10 is a gas, the product was too small and the diesel way fit perfectly. So, just FYI. (The V10 was a direct drop in for the diesel by the way, so it gets same engine mounts and all other diesel body specs.)
Very good product. Was delivered in a heavy duty box thank you! Instructions are well thought out, easy to follow. Installation was a breeze. Good quality hardware. Love how they work. Already have hauled some heavy loads with the truck. Stayed nice and level. No people flashing their high beams at me. Will make a valuable addition for any truck that hauls a heavy load now and then, especially fifth wheels.
Since I was only replacing my already installed air bags, it was very easy. I like how the air lines attached, very simple.
Installed in less than two hours. Fairly simple to install. Took some extra time to route the airlines the way I like them to be. I recommend a dry build off the truck prior to tightening anything down. Orientation of the airbags is critical so don’t tighten the bottom bolt going into the base of the airbags until you are certain of airbags orientation. You may not be able to tighten once installed due to brake lines or other hardware depending on model truck. I have a 2500 Ram diesel 4x4. This is in the instructions but my orientation was off just a hair on driver side so I had to remove and get it perfect. Just a minor problem which I solved in 5 minutes. Leak and OPs check good to go.
Great product and easy to install. etrailer always provides excellent service with quick shipping. This Firestone kit was put on 2012 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel mega cab. Everything comes in the kit you need and offers clear instructions to install. One side note is to make sure you dry fit the airbag in the brackets so that the final install goes easier for you. This product allows easy load leveling when trailering or hauling heavy loads and also works with bolt in gooseneck hitches.
The air bag mounting supports did not fit my 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 RWD. I had to modify them to fit. They work well now and help when I am towing our 9000 lb travel trailer.
Installation was simple. Product performance is excellent. Instructions and video es very simple to follow.
I also ordered the air line "T" so I only have one line at the back to air up the bags.
Put 45#s of air in the bags then loaded a round bale of hay on, see pics

Working out great! I pull a horse trailer and loads of cattle . No failure in the last 12 months
Easy to install.
Works great.
Had a small issue with one side slowly losing pressure.
Reset the lines and seems to be holding.
Easy to install and great ride on my 07bdodge ram 3500.
I purchased the Firestone air bags after a very rough trip from IL to Co pulling my toy hauler. The road across MO was very rough and made for an unpleasant ride. I had Timbrens (also purchased from etrailer) on my pickup for over 10 years and had been ok with them. I think on that trip the suspension maybe was compressed a bit more and there was a jarring when they made contact. So far I’ve been much happier with the air bags.
