Recommended 100-Watt Solar Panel Expansion Kit for a Forest River Trailer.
Updated 11/17/2025 | Published 12/17/2024 >
Question:
Can this solar panel be connected to my existing 100-watt panel. The 100-watt panel was factory installed. The newer versions of my rv are now coming with 200-watt units installed. I have a 2022 Heritage Glen 310 BHI, manufactured by Forest River. Thank you for your time and help.

Hey Jerry! You don't need the Go Power Retreat Solar Charging System with Digital Solar Controller item # 34272635. That's a full set up. All you're going to need is an expansion kit like the 100 Watt Go Power Retreat Expansion Kit item # 34272634.
This expansion kit works with Go Power solar charging systems using MC4 branch connectors. This is a commonly used connector amongst solar systems. As far as compatibility it should work with your existing set up. I would be more than willing to confirm that for you if you could provide the manufacturer of your solar set up. If you could comment below the manufacturer and any part numbers you have, I would be happy to confirm the item # 34272634 works or find you one that does.
I have attached a picture below of the MC4 branch connectors. If you just want to check and see if you have this connector that would work too.

Hey Jerry, did you get a chance to check whether your current solar setup uses the MC4 branch connectors? Once you know that or have the manufacturer info, I can help confirm if the 100-watt expansion kit is the right match. Let me know what you find—I’m happy to help narrow it down.
