Question:

Hello, I would like to replace the 2 Go Power flexible 100 watt panels on my rv with 2 Go Power 100 watt rigid glass panels. I would like simply to replace the flexible panels with hard panels and use the existing wires on the van see pic to connect to the panels in the exact same way that they are connected now. My problem is that I dont know what is on the back of the 100 watt rigid panels and what is needed to run from each panel to the 4 way connector currently used. From the current connection with the solar panel to the 4 way connection is about 35 inches for each panel. Is there an extension cord or something that would connect to the wires on the back of each new panel and run to the existing 4 piece connector? I am hoping it is kind of a plug and play solution to swap out the panels but the wiring connections have me confused. I would use the existing Go power controller since I am just swapping out panels. Thank you.

Hey Bob, welcome back and thanks for the picture! Your Go Power flexible 100 watt panels use MC4 connectors.

To replace them rigid glass panels you'll want the 100 watt Go Power Retreat Expansion Kit item # 34272634. These panels are sold individually and come with two 11' long cables. It will be a plug and play situation as the item # 34272634 also comes with MC4 connectors. All the mounting brackets and hardware are included.

For MC4 connector extension cords we have a few options that I have listed below by length:

3' Long item # 34274672

10' Long item # 34276216

15' Long item # 34279532

30' Long item # 34276215

50' Long item # 34271105

Hey Bob, how did your swap from the flexible to the rigid Go Power panels go? Did the MC4 connectors and cables make it the plug-and-play setup you were hoping for? Your update could make it easier for others planning the same upgrade.

@JerredH Hello, we have had a long period of cold and snow so I did not get to it yet. I appreciate your response and hope to get to it before long. It looks like the swap out will work.
