Recommended Flat Towing Components For A 2023 Chevy TrailBlazer ACTIV AWD

Published 11/16/2024

Question:

How are you? I have a roadmaster set-up to flat tow a 2013 Equinox behind a 2019 Winnebago View 24J. This included the plastic panels to block and protect the front end of the tow vehicle. We really liked the set-up. So the Equinox died on us recently and we upgraded to a 2023 Trailblazer ACTIV all wheel drive model. Is any of my old Roadmaster set-up comparable with the new tow bar I would need to be installed on the Trailblazer? I can get you a list of parts I currently have if needed. Can you give me your ideal recommended set-up and product list. May purchase from you guys as your prices seem very reasonable! Really appreciate your help and look forward to doing business with you.

Hey Jeffrey, I'm doing good, how about you?

Sorry to hear about your Equinox but we can definitely help get your new Trailblazer set up to tow. The tow bar, Tow Defender, safety cables, and charge line kit (if installed) could be swapped over but the diode wiring and baseplate are different. The braking system can most likely be moved over but you might need some new parts depending on the system. What braking system do you currently have?

For the baseplate I recommend the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM35FR. You will need to have a hitch mounted Roadmaster tow bar with direct-connect connectors for this. If you have something else let me know and I can look for a solution.

For the diode wiring I recommend the Roadmaster # RM26FR if you have incandescent tail lights or the # RM38FR if you have LED's.

You won't have to pull fuses any more but you will need to disconnect the battery. If you want to make the process as easy as pressing a button you can install the Roadmaster Battery Disconnect # RM-766.

If you didn't have a charge line before and would like to add one to keep the Trailblazer's battery charged while towing you can use part # RM-156-25.
