Which Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty for 2020 Toyota Tacoma SR

Hi, I have a Tacoma SR 2020, and I do not know if I should buy the Redarc Brake Controller RED72CR with or without the tow package. Could you help me out how I could know wich one should I have to choose to? thanks gonzalo

Hi Gonazlo; the easiest thing to do is check to see if you have the factory tow port under your dash. I attached an installation video on a 2023 Tacoma below so you can see where to look. If you have the tow port with a factory 7-way at the rear of the truck you can use the # RED72CR. If you do not have a factory tow port and have an aftermarket 7-way added to the truck you need the # RED52VR instead.

Yes you do need a brake controller installed in your 2020 Toyota Tacoma to control the travel trailer's electric brakes as there isn't one installed in your truck from the factory and there's no other device that can actuate the brakes.…

For a 2020 Toyota Tacoma the install harness 3040-P that you have would not be the correct harness to use. To install the Redarc Tow Pro Elite brake controller #RED44FR the correct harness you'd need is the part #RED99FR.
