Does Brake Controller Installation on 2022 Ram 1500 Require Unlocking Brake Controller At Dealer

Question:

i have a customer with a 22 Ram 1500. He wants a brake controller installed. He was told that if it was installed it would have to be unlocked at the dealer. Do you know if this is true. We would be installing the Pro Series Pod I got from you.

I think you're referring to the Tekonsha POD # 39523 but regardless of the brake controller installed on that 2022 Ram no unlocking would be necessary for it to work. If it has an integrated factory brake controller already and you're removing it that will probably generate an error code which would be something the dealer has to clear.

Hey, how did the install of the Tekonsha POD brake controller on the Ram 1500 go? Did everything work without needing the dealer to unlock anything? Your update could make it easier for others setting up the same controller.
