I am looking for a flat tow equipment for the following equipment and wanted to see which components that you recommend. We are full time and durability and reliability are the most important things to us for this. Motorhome is a 2025 Renegade Verona M2-106 chassis that has four wheel air disk brakes. The toad is 2025 Ram 1500 4X4 with 3.6 E-Torque V6. We are looking for the following components as well as anything else that you think we might need. 1. Base plate for Ram. 2. Tow bars. 3. Permanently installed supplemental braking system. 4. Safety cables and wiring for lighting. 5. Battery charger for toad. 6. Options for /raise hitch if needed.

Hey Al, you came to the right place. I can definitely help with this. Here is what I recommend for flat towing your 2025 Ram 1500 4x4 3.6 E-Torque V6:

- Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # DM9519341

- etrailer XHD Non-Binding Tow Bar - RV Mount - 2" Hitch - 10,500 lbs # e94ZR

- Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267

- Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25

- Demco Air Force One Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Air Brakes - Proportional # SM99243

That covers all of the main components. The etrailer XDH tow bar is a very solid option. It is easy to hook up and unbind the arms, and it has integrated safety cables. The Demco brake system is by far the best option for RVs with air braked. It is extremely reliable and very easy to hook up once the initial install is done. All you have to do is hook up the quick connect air hose and you are ready to tow.

You may want to consider getting a cover for the tow bar, part # DM9523042. This will be a worthwhile investment if you plan to stow the tow bar on the back of your coach. So will a locking hitch pin such as part # e98881. You may also need a drop hitch to compensate for any height differences between the base plate and the hitch on your motorhome. Any difference of more than 3" requires a drop hitch. For that I recommend the Blue Ox Adjustable Drop Hitch # BLU28XR. Keep in mind that the etrailer XHD tow bar has a 2" drop/rise built in to the shank, so that can help get rid of the need for a drop hitch in some cases.

@Al So our etrailer brand is actually made for us by Demco, so it is basically just their tow bar re-branded. Generally our etrailer one will be a bit more affordable too. I work with these tow bars a lot (Demco was actually here at our shop earlier this week doing a tow bar demonstration) and I have found our etrailer brand to be the best option. The built-in drop/rise is unique to this brand so that is a great feature. The integrated cables are also nice. The release for the arms is very easy to operate. Unbinding the tow bar after towing is done by flipping a lever. Other tow bars have this lever but it can be VERY difficult to unbind. The design of the etrailer/Demco tow bar lever makes it easy to flip and there is really no elbow grease required. Overall I just think you will have a better experience with our tow bar. You get the USA made quality of the Demco tow bars for a better price. I hope this answers your question. Let me know if there is anything else I can do.

@Al Yes I do. There will not be much of a noticeable difference between the brands there. Any "non-binding" tow bar is going to have good maneuverability and side to side movement. The etrailer/Demco are known for smooth turning with the arms. As long as they stay clean you will have no issues with maneuverability.
