Is There A Way To Adapt The Yakima Original CopperHead To Fit Aero Crossbars?

Hello. I have a set of older Yakima copperhead bike trays. They are designed to fit on round or square crossbars. My new car has aero bars. Is there an adapter or any way you could suggest I retrofit the old Yakima copperhead to fit onto my aero bars?

Hello Karin, thanks for reaching out. I double checked with my contact at Yakima, and unfortunately there is not an adapter kit for the CopperHead bike rack, nor is there any way to retrofit it to aero crossbars. The copperhead was designed when round bars were the standard crossbar, and Yakima has since shifted their products to fit a wider range of crossbar shapes and sizes.
It may be possible to add a round bar roof rack to your car. Otherwise, the best option will be to get a new bike carrier such as the Yakima FrontLoader # Y02103 or HighSpeed # Y02115. Both of these will attach to aero crossbars.
