Recommended Flat Towing Set Up for a 2020 Jeep Gladiator

Hi Jerred, I have a 2020 Gladiator and a Tiffin Allegro Bay Super C. I need to get all the stuff to flat tow the Gladiator behind the Tiffin and I’ve seen set-ups where the tow bar is attached to the d-ring attachment points on the bumper. I contacted the bumper company and the bumper is rated for flat towing/pulling up to 10,000lbs. Would that way negate the need for a base plate kit? I’m trying to purchase everything tomorrow.. Last question- I’m assuming this needs to be installed by a professional? I’m fairly handy and have done most of the work on my Gladiator, but I’ve never done any towing.

Hey Dennis! That bumper being flat tow capable is definitely going to be helpful! You won't need a base plate kit but you will need to measure those d-rings and see how wide they are. There's two different options to hook up to them. If they are 1" thick you'll need item # RM-035-1. If they are 3/4" thick you will need item # RM-035.
Here are the rest of the parts you will need to flat tow your 2020 Jeep Gladiator:
Tow Bar and Safety Chains - Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar item # RM-520 and item # RM-643
Wiring Harness - Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit item # RM-15267
Supplemental Braking System - SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System item # SM99251 or item # SM99243 if your motorhome has air brakes.
High Low Adapter - The tow bar needs to be within 3" of level. If you measure the height of the inside top of the hitch receiver tube on your RV, and the height difference is more than 3 inches above/below the base plate tab height, you'll need a high/low adapter. As far as installation goes and having a professional do the work it's going to come down to your skill level with wiring. I have linked all the instruction manuals below along with videos we've done installing these parts on Jeep Gladiators. Hopefully these will be able to answer all your install questions for you.
