Is Tekonsha Harness 3034-P Same as 22292

Updated 01/05/2026 | Published 09/24/2024

Question:

Is part number 3034-p the same as Tekonsha 22292? I’m looking for a connector to Prodigy P2 for a 2024 Ford Ranger. Both these plug ends look like they would fit into the plug under my dash behind the OBD port. I REALLY do not want to cause issues with the truck’s AEB.

Hi David, the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter # 3034-P is different than the # 22292. Neither is verified by Tekonsha to fit your 2024 Ford Ranger, though there has been anecdotal evidence the latter can work with some '24 Ranger models equipped with a tow package. Unfortunately, I can't absolutely verify that for you as of right now.

Hey David, were you able to find a wiring adapter that works with your 2024 Ranger and the Prodigy P2? Knowing what ended up fitting could really help others trying to connect a brake controller on the same truck.

@JerredH Tekonsha 303600 harness was plug’n’play because I had ordered the 2024 Ranger with one of the trailer tow packages (not the expensive one that includes the factory brake controller, obviously, which is not available on the ‘XL’ model) - it came with a socket near the steering column that the Tekonsha harness plugged right into. Idle Ranger observation: for almost a year I was convinced Ford had shipped me a commercial version base model that did not include the ‘tow-haul’ transmission setting (I assumed I was being punished for getting such a good deal from the dealer). There was no button or menu icon anywhere that I could see. One day, while exploring in my garage, I had a look at the button near the gearshift lever that is labeled with a checkered flag, presumably a sports option, a leaf, presumably ‘eco’ mode, and squiggly lines that suggested ‘slippery mode’, a.k.a. 4-wheel-drive with traction control. It turns out that button also invokes tow-haul mode! It’s just not on the label. It works extremely well, btw, although I still feel more comfortable locking out 9th and 10th gears with a trailer tagging along behind. Thank you for your reply.
