Will Curt Hitch for 2021 Ford Explorer Interfere With Kick Sensor

Question:
Have 2021 Ford Explorer limited will my bottom sensors still work to open back trunk after hitch installed. It has the hands-free foot sensor to open back door.

Hi Tony; you will still be able to use the kick sensor once the # CU78FR is installed. Make sure you follow the instructions starting with step 5 so you don't damage the kick sensor or it won't work. You may have to place your foot on either side of the receiver to get it to sense your foot but you will not completely lose the functionality.

Hey Tony, how did things go with the Curt hitch on your Explorer—did the hands-free liftgate sensor still pick up your foot on either side of the receiver? Your update could make it easier for the next person adding a hitch with that feature.
