What Size Cutout Does The Fogatti AC FG22FR Fit?

Updated 08/28/2024 | Published 07/12/2024

Question:

Replacing an AC that died and want to make sure this fits. I have a 14” x 14” cutout in my roof, which I think is standard. The one that died was old and the only info I could find on it was that it isnt made anymore. So here I am.

Hi Mary,

You are absolutely correct in that you have the standard 14” x 14” cutout that the vast majority of AC units adhere to. So with that said, the Fogatti InstaCool RV AC w/ Air Distribution Box, Thermostat - 13,500 Btu - White - R32 # FG22FR will work perfectly fine. This will include everything you need to get it up and running as well.

Hi! Is the Fogatti FG22FR considered a low profile unit? Or can you recommend one that is? We’re concerned because the front of the rv is higher.

@TracyN I have a selection of our 13,500 BTU AC units listed below with their respective measurements. Fogatti InstaCool # FG22FR - 29-1/2" long x 27-5/8" wide x 14-3/16" tall Furrion Chill HE # FR78PR - 34-13/16" long x 27-9/16" wide x 13-9/16" tall Advent Air # ACM135 - 31-3/16" long x 24-7/8" wide x 12-13/16" tall Dometic Penguin II # DMC86ZR -40-1/2" long x 29" wide x 11-1/4" tall The Dometic Penguin II will be our lowest profile 13,500 BTU unit so if height is a major concern, it will be the best option. However, it should be noted that this is just the rooftop unit and you will need the air distribution box and controls # DMC43ZR to complete the install. The Advent Air AC is the second lowest option and again is just the roof unit. You will need the Air Distribution Box w/ Wall-Mounted Thermostat # ACRG15 to complete this install. Just be aware that Advent ACs CANNOT be used to replace Dometic parts as they are not compatible with each other. The Fogatti and Furrion models are complete units that include the roof unit, ceiling distribution box, and wall mounted thermostats. I would not call either the Fogatti or Furrion units "low profile" as they are the tallest of the four options.
