6-Pin Connector

This Advent Air AC unit lets you replace an old or broken air conditioner on your RV or camper. It has a 6-pin connector for easy plug-and-play installation and it works with your existing Advent Air or Dometic air distribution box. The AC has a powerful fan and motor that provides a steady stream of air to efficiently cool the inside of your RV on a hot or muggy day. And everything you need in order to replace or add an AC unit is included, which makes installation easy.

Simple Installation

Because your RV is likely already prepped and pre-wired for an AC unit, installation is simple. Most AC units are designed to fit an opening that measures 14-1/4" x 14-1/4". Depending on your roof setup, you may need to do minimal alterations. If the opening is larger than 14-3/8" x 14-3/8", you will need to install spacers between the sides of the unit and the opening's edges. If the opening is smaller than 14-1/8" x 14-1/8", you will need to enlarge the hole to fit the unit snugly inside the opening.

Advent Air AC Collapsible Gasket and Foam Pads

On the bottom of the AC, there's a thick, collapsible gasket with 6 noise-reducing foam pads. This provides support between the RV roof and AC and seals the opening to prevent water and outside air from leaking in. Because of this, the use of fresh sealant isn't needed. Once installed, the hard plastic cover on the AC can easily be removed for maintenance and cleaning.

And in order to fully complete installation, this AC needs to be paired with your existing Advent Air or Dometic air distribution box and thermostat.

Additional Accessories

Additional accessories can be purchased separately to improve the performance of your Advent Air AC unit. The start capacitor (ACMSCKIT) improves the performance of your AC by using stored energy to jumpstart it. And the electric heat strip (ACMHD) removes the chill on cold or frosty mornings in your RV, ensuring you stay comfortable. Please note that the heat strip will only work on Advent Air AC units.

Advent Air Warranty Coverage

2-Year limited warranty covers defective units when installed correctly on approved applications. The warranty does not cover units installed incorrectly. To ensure air conditioner is installed correctly, please see the questionnaire pdf below. A filled-out questionnaire is required for warranty coverage.

If you are not comfortable using a voltmeter (or removing the charge from the start capacitor), you'll want to make a service appointment with your local RV dealer to verify the installation. Print the pdfs below (warranty- questionnaire, warranty dealer information) and take them along with the RV to your local dealer. ASA does compensate dealers for warranty work as outlined in the dealer information pdf. You may be charged by the dealer for time spent investigating the installation.

  • What Adapter Should be Used With Advent Air AC Unit to Replace a Coleman Setup
Hey James, since you have a Coleman setup the correct adapter you should have used is the part # ACCOLKIT and that is why I suspect your units are communicating. This adapter was designed for Colemans whereas what you have is for Carrier setups.

  • Direct Replacement RV AC Unit Solution for KZ Durango with Coleman Mach 8333B676
Based on the part number you mentioned that would indicate you have a Coleman Mach RV AC unit so for a direct replacement AC unit solution you would want the Advent Air unit part # ACM135B that you mentioned as well as the Coleman adapter kit part # ACCOLKIT which allows it to plug right into the wiring you have on your RV in place of your current AC which will give you ability to use your current controls.

  • Replacement AC for 2015 Forest River Vengeance Toy Hauler
Hey Dan! Can you at least tell me who the manufacturer is? You can try to swap it out with # ACM135B which fits a 6-pin but I can't guarantee it will work. Due to compatibility issues we only recommend replacing the AC unit itself with the same model. If you can't figure out the manufacturer and what model the AC is the best thing is a complete replacement. Right now is a good time to switch since all of the old models are being replaced with the new R32 units. This means old parts are...

  • Will 13.5K Btu Advent AC Replace GE AC Unit on RV?
Hey Jason, thanks for reaching out! There are some brands we know will work with the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner # ACM135B as a plug and play, but GE isn't one of them. You're more than welcome to try it out, but you might want to have a knowledgeable friend or tech on speed dial in case the plugs don't match up or are pinned differently. Worst-case you'll need to also need to get the Air Distribution Box w/ Wall-Mounted Thermostat # ACRG15 if you can't get this to work with your GE...

Hey Christopher, sorry to hear about your AC unit getting smashed. I am sure there's quite the story behind that...but anyway to pick out a replacement I would need to know more info. Are you wanting to just replace the top part of the setup? If so, I would need to know the brand and model of what you have as it would need to be an exact match. If you're looking to replace everything let me know as I can help pick out best system for your needs.

  • Replacement Air Conditioner for a Dometic That Doesn't Blow Cold Air
Hey Debbie, thanks for reaching out! The Advent Air RV Air Conditioner # ACM135B won't work but the Furrion Chill HE # FR62PV will because it has a wiring adapter so it's compatible with your current wiring. Before replacing your whole AC unit I recommend having the compressor checked out. Usually when an air conditioner is operating but not blowing cold air it just means the compressor needs to be replaced or messed with. This could be a lot cheaper than an all out replacement unit.

Hey Richard, you would want to climb the ladder at the back of your motorhome so that you can see what brand and model of RV AC unit you have. Manufacturers do not keep record of what unit they put on RVs and since they are easily replaceable it's possible you don't have the original. Let me know what you find and we can go from there. Keep in mind we don't recommend mixing upper unit and lower unit manufacturers anymore so you will need to have to match plus there was a refrigerant law...

  • Troubleshooting Advent Air RV Air Conditioner Freezing Up
Yes, you have the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner w/ Air Distribution Box, Start Capacitor, and Heat Strip, # ACM150CH. This is not an issue that we get often but it does sometimes occur with most any unit, when this happens it is frequently due to air flow. I completely agree the best option will be a Furrion. We have found that Furrion AC's are around 20% quieter than the older Coleman Mach AC units. Since you want to replace your entire system, I recommend the Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System item # FR45PV in black or item # FR65PV in white. These kits include a 15,000 Btu AC unit, a LED air distribution box, and a wall thermostat. This system also includes a start capacitor to help when your generator doesn't supply enough power.
