Are Stake Pocket Tie-Downs Safe Enough To Secure A Truck Bed Camper on a 2010 Ford F-350?

Updated 02/03/2026 | Published 07/01/2024

Question:

I have a 2010 F350 extra cab four-wheel-drive. I have airbags and I have a 1995 Woodland camper can I safely use steak pocket tiedowns to haul my camper?

I never recommend using Stake Pocket Tie-Downs # TDSF as the stake pockets on trucks are not strong enough to properly secure your camper. I only recommend using frame mounted options like the TorkLift. You would need either the Short Bed Kit # TL76DR or Long Bed Kit # TL93VV to match your bed length as long as you have the factory receiver. Please let me know if you have a different trailer hitch receiver on your 2010 Ford F-350.

You will then need the Turnbuckles # TLS9529-2-LK to easily secure your camper to your truck.

Hey, how did things go with the TorkLift frame-mounted tie-downs for your F-350 and Woodland camper? Your results could really help others deciding between frame-mounted and stake pocket options. Sharing what worked might guide the next person hauling a similar camper.
