No-Drill Installation

These clamp-on tie-downs install quickly and easily, with no drilling or modification to your truck required. Because they're mounted in the bed instead of on the frame or body of your truck, you don't need any kind of fancy mechanical background to get this job done. You just need to slide the hold downs over the rails of your truck and clamp them down with the included T-bars and hex bolts.

HoldDown Side View

The fact that they simply clamp on means that you can remove these tie-downs when you're not hauling your camper, leaving no trace. Use the provided neoprene pads on the T-bolts and tie-downs where they make contact with your truck to make sure no scratches or dents will be left behind either.

where to put camper tie downs

It's important that the tie-downs on your truck line up with the anchors on your camper at the correct angle to ensure a secure hold. Ideally the tie-downs should be on the outside of your camper's anchor points, but they can be on the inside as well, just as long as they're not lined up with each other.

Securing your Camper

Camper with TieDowns

To secure your camper to your truck, you'll also need a tie-down hardware package consisting of turnbuckles, S-hooks, and chains (TDHP - sold separately). This hardware attaches the anchors on your camper to the tie-downs on your truck to keep your camper safely mounted. Once you tighten the turnbuckles to the correct level of tension (not too tight!), you'll be good to hit the road.

  • Recommendation of Camper Tie Downs for a 2010 Ford F-150
The Brophy Camper Tie Downs, part # TDSF can be used on campers that have a total length of up to 8 feet in length. The Brophy Camper Tie Downs, part # HSSF can be used on any size campers. There is no weight capacity rating on the camper tie downs and they will work for any camper size that is properly sized for your 2010 Ford F-150. The Brophy # TDSF mounts into the truck bed stake pocket, where as the Brophy # HSSF tie downs wrap around the bed, not in the stake pockets, and are mounted...

  • Are Brophy Tie-Downs Compatible with Newer Super Duty Pickups with Aluminum Bed
You can use the Brophy Clamp On Camper Tie-Downs # HSAB for your 2018 Ford F-350 Super Duty but we actually recommend going with the Camper Tie-Downs # HSSF instead as they have a slightly different design that better fits your Super Duty. Attached are dimensional photos of each for you to reference with your application. You will notice that one, part # HSAB, has an extra bend towards the end where you attach your tie-downs.

  • Which Brophy Camper Tie Downs Fit 2001 Toyota Tundra
For tie-downs that will work in your 2001 Toyota Tundra you will want the Brophy Clamp On Camper Tie-Downs # HSSF. Brophy has told us in the past that the # HSWB was intended for domestic trucks. These tie-downs are compatible with the turnbuckles # TDHP that you'd need to complete your camper tie down setup for your truck. This provides the connection from the tie down to the camper. I attached a review video for more info as well.

  • What is the Weight Capacity of the Brophy Clamp On Camper Tie-Downs Part # HSSF
According to Ford's towing guide, your 2015 Ford F-150 has a max payload capacity of 3,300 ft. lbs. Therefore, yes, you should have no trouble using the Travel-lite 770RSL with your truck. The Brophy Clamp On Camper Tie-Downs part # HSSF is a good option to secure the truck bed camper to your vehicle. I spoke to my contact at C.R. Brophy and they were able to confirm the compatibility with the Ford aluminum truck beds. There is no weight capacity rating on the camper tie downs and they...

The correct set of Torklift Camper tie downs for your 2005 Dodge Dakota 5 foot bed without steps are the part numbers TLD2114 and # TLR3500. For turnbuckles you'd then want the part # TLS9000 which would work well on your import camper.

Hey Mike. I checked with HappiJac and their Truck-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs item # LC182910 will not fit your 2022 Nissan Frontier and they do not have a set that does. Instead, I recommend the Brophy Slide In Camper Tie-Downs item # HSSF. These universal and will fit as long as you have 2" of space beneath the lip of the bed rail on your 2022 Nissan Frontier. I do not have anyway of knowing this so you'll need to take a measurement. For a set of compatible turnbuckles, you'll want the...

  • Can the Brophy Clamp On Camper Tie-Downs Be Used On a Ford F-150 with Aluminum Bed
We have spoken with Brophy in the past and for a Ford F-150 with aluminum body such as your 2017 model they recommend using the Brophy Clamp On Camper Tie-Downs part # HSSF. There won't be any issues with these tie downs and an aluminum bed so long as you are not exceeding other figures such as payload capacity etc. In order to secure the truck bed camper to these tie-downs you will also need the Brophy Basic Turnbuckles w/ Hardware for Camper Tie-Downs part # TDHP. • Choosing Between Frame Mount and Universal Camper Tie-Downs for Ford F-350
The primary advantage of frame-mounted camper tie-downs like the TorkLift # TLF2012A and # TLF3001A, which are designed to fit your Ford F-350 if it has the 6-3/4 foot bed without a step/board underneath and a factory hitch, is the stability they provide. Because they mount to the vehicle's steel frame, which is simply a much stronger attachment point than the truck bed, it offers a stronger and more secure connection. With that being said, you can certainly use clamp on tie-downs like...

  • Do Brophy Camper Tie Downs have a Weight Capacity Rating
There is no weight capacity rating on the camper tie downs # HSSF and they will work for any camper size that is properly sized for your truck. • Do Brophy Clamp On Camper Tie-Downs Have A Weight Capacity
There is no weight capacity for the Brophy Clamp On Camper Tie-Downs # HSSF. The tie-down hardware kit # TDHP, that is used to secure the camper to the # HSSF tie-downs has a weight capacity of 3,000-lbs. My contact at Brophy said the tie-downs will handle the camper and the concern would be if the truck capacity was not able to handle it, but with an F-350 you should have no issue. Since the front tie-down is behind the camper tie-down, the rear tie-down must be forward of the camper...

  • Troubleshooting Too Much Play With Brophy Clamp On Camper Tie-Downs
The Brophy Clamp On Camper Tie-Downs # HSSF will have a very slight amount of play since there is a compressible pad to prevent scratches on the bedrails, but it sounds like you're having much more significant play. I've attached a picture from an install of this part and you can see that the bolt is at its limit on threads. If you're seeing the same with your install then I recommend picking up longer T-Bolts with part # BR2007 to close the gap and tighten it down more to your bedrails.

  • Camper Tie Downs for Palomino SS-1251 in Bed of 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500
For a camper that long I would recommend going with tie downs that attach to the truck frame instead as that's a much more secure mounting point for it. For that you'd need the # TLC2217 and # TLC3214 which is custom fit for your 2017 Chevy Silverado short bed without boards and a factory hitch. Then for turnbuckles you'd just need the part # TLS9529-2-LK for a set of stainless steel ones with locks integrated.

  • Is the HSSF or the TDSF Slide In Camper Tie Down a Fit for 2012 Silverado
According to CR Brophy, the TDSF camper tie-down you refer to is not compatible with GM trucks after the 1988 model year. My contact tells me that the HSSF tie downs are indeed compatible with a 2012 Silverado. If you look at the provided photo, you will get a better idea of how the tie downs attach to the top of the bed rail. The tie downs do not have a specified weight rating, but they are more than strong enough to handle any slide-in camper that will physically fit in your truck bed.
