How to Determine if a Trailer Wheel is Steel or Aluminum

Hi - I have a question regarding your tire pressure valve extenders 135 and 180 degrees. How do I tell if I have aluminum wheels or steel wheels? Thanks!

You can perform the old magnet test to determine if your trailer wheels are aluminum or steel. The magnet will not stick to aluminum wheels. Also, If your wheel is painted or shows some rust, that is a good indication that it is a steel wheel. Aluminum trailer wheels are not usually painted and won't rust like steel wheels.

In order to determine the torque rating for the lug nuts on your trailer you will need to know check out the chart I attached that shows all of the torque specs for all the trailer lugs available based on stud size, wheel material and wheel size.
