How to Measure Width and Bolt Pattern on a Trailer Wheel

What is the correct way to measure a wheel for width and bolt pattern?

Expert Reply:
To measure the width of a trailer wheel you will measure from where the tire beads will seat on the wheel. That will be from the inside of the inner wheel flange to the inside of the outer wheel flange, not from edge to edge of the wheel.
To measure the bolt pattern on a wheel with an even amount of lugs ( 4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug ) you will measure from the center of two bolt holes directly across from each other.
If the wheel is a 5-lug wheel you will measure from the center of one hole to the back edge of the bolt hole straight across from it.
