Can I Power An Electric Tongue Jack With The 7-Way On My Tow vehicle?

I have a new food trailer that has a vevor electric tongue jack. I do not have a battery on the trailer to run the jack and was thinking that I might be able to run it off the 7 pin connection on my tow vehicle. Can this work? If it will what will i need for parts? Thank You

Hello Richard, great question. Adding a battery to the trailer is definitely the best way to power an electric tongue jack. That being said, it is possible to connect the jack to the to the 12v pin on your 7-way connecter, but the jack will likely operate more slowly than usual. There are two ways to connect your jack to the 7-way.
Option 1: Wire it to the 12v power post of your trailer's junction box to have it pull power from the trailer's 7-way when connected to the tow vehicle.
Option 2: Wire it to its own plug # PK12706, with the wire connected to the 1 o'clock position of the plug, and then you can plug it in to the tow vehicle's 7-way to power it.
