Is Progressive Dynamics 2000 Watt Transfer Switch Good Choice for Replacing Xantrex Pro
Published 03/20/2024 >
Question:
Hi, I have a 2018 Thor Hurricane that currently has an Xantrex pro 1800 inverter from the factory. The first one lasted about 4.5 years and stopped working. I replaced it with the same and it quit in 14 months. I’m looking for more reliability, would the Progressive Dynamics 2000 with transfer switch be a good option? I don’t have solar as yet, but plan on adding some later. I believe that would impact the converter and not inverter. Is that correct and would this be a good choice for me? Thank you, Steve

Hey Steve, yes the Progressive Dynamics transfer switch part # PD64FR would be a super reliable and great option for your 2018 Thor Hurricane. PD makes really solid transfer switches that would be a lot more reliable than what you tried already.
Adding solar power to your setup would not affect the choice of a transfer switch either.
