Hello, I am looking to purchase the Mighty Cord Replacement Hardwire RV Plug - 50 Amp Male - A10-P50VP. It is to put on the end of 6-4 SO cable for my portable generator. Is this cord cap weather proof? Also I see many that look similar on Amazon and mention that the screws strip easily and that it is not very durable. Is this the same as Amazons with just a different name? Thank you?

The Mighty Cord Replacement Hardwire RV Plug # A10-P50VP is not weather proof as moisture can still get inside the connector. While some may fill the inside of the connector with Dielectric Grease # 11755 to help prevent moisture from getting into the connector there is a better option. We have the Mighty Cord Replacement Pigtail # A10-50PMVP which does have the sealed connector head. This will make it much easier to seal the wiring at the splice using Heat Shrink # DW05402.
As far as the reviews on Amazon since I cannot verify if you are looking at the same item from the same manufacturer I have no way to say if they are the same connector used under a different name.
