Question:

Hello, I am looking for a weight distribution hitch with sway control for our Sun lite camper model 19bh. It weighs 2880 dry weight. Tongue weight is 320. We are pulling it with a 2024 Honda pilot. Can you recommend a system for this? Thank you!

Hi Emily,

Before buying anything you'll want to verify that both the Pilot and the trailer hitch installed on it are rated for use with a weight distribution hitch (WDH). From what I can see Honda does not recommend it because it can shift the weight and put too much stress on the frame if installed incorrectly.

If everything checks out you can go with the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control # FA92-00-0450. This system has a tongue capacity range from 200lbs up to 450lbs and comes with 2-point sway control.

If you can't use a WDH then you can use a friction sway control kit like the Curt # 17200. You'll just need to get an appropriate ball mount that either includes a mounting plate for friction sway control or use an adapter # RP26003 to install the friction sway control kit.
