Question:

is there a hitch that allows the knock out panel bumper cover to go back on when the hitch isnt in use for the 2020 dodge durango? i dont have a factory tow package and need to tow a small trailer just the lights

I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # DT38MR for the 2020 Dodge Durango that allows the knock out panel to be replaced when the hitch is not in use. I have attached an installation video on a 2019 Dodge Durango but the installation will be the same for the 2020.

If you need wiring, I recommend Tekonsha OEM Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness w Brake Controller Adapter - 7 Way Trailer Connector part # TK22113 which will give you a fully functional 4-Way and 7-way on the Durango if you need a 7-Way in the future.

Since you plan on doing some towing you may consider the etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag. If you are not sure how much rise/drop you may need in a ball mount to tow your trailer level, I recommend to take a look at the helpful article I have attached about how to figure the amount of rise or drop you may need.
