Packing bearings by hand and swapping seals is messy and time-consuming. This hub-and-drum assembly uses Dexter’s 50mm Nev-R-Lube cartridge bearings that never need greasing or packing. The sealed roller bearing design moves slightly with axle flex to reduce wear, eliminating the need for routine bearing maintenance or seal replacement. Just install it and you’re done.
When you’re towing serious weight, you want confident stopping power. This 12" diameter x 2" wide drum works with 12" electric or hydraulic brake assemblies to give you smooth, reliable braking. It’s designed for 7,000-lb trailer axles and has a 3,500-lb capacity per hub, giving you the strength and durability needed for demanding hauls.
The hub-and-drum assembly comes ready with bearings, snap rings, grease cap, wheel bolts, and 1/2"-diameter lug nuts included. The sturdy iron build stands up to years of service, and with the hardware already in place, installation is straightforward and solid.
This assembly fits wheels from 16" to 17-1/2" and uses a common 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern for easy wheel matching. The 3.35" grease cap flange diameter ensures a secure, consistent fit on your 7,000-lb Nev-R-Lube axle. With a 5-year or 100,000-mile limited warranty, it’s built for long-term reliability trip after trip.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Another 12,000 miles and the bearings are still running cool with no problems so far. Its convenient to not have to worry about repacking. I continue to monitor bearing temperatures and watch for any abnormalities.
