Can Trailer Wiring be Used to Power Camper Shell Dome Light/3rd Brake Light

Question:

I just bought a Leer topper and installed it on my pickup. I want to use the 7 way that’s installed in the bed of my truck to provide constant 12v to the dome light and also power the 3rd brake light. How can this be accomplished and how exactly would this be wired?

The 1:00 pin circuit of the 7-way could be ran to power the dome light since that's a 12 volt circuit that is hot all the time but you would need to go a different route for the third brake light. For that you would need the tail light converter part # PP20-702 which you'd wire to the stop/turn circuits of the 7-way which would then give you a stoplight circuit on the red wire like you need.
