What's The Difference Between The Progressive Dynamics # PD9260C And # PD79RR Converters

Question:

I want to upgrade Rv converter. I saw someone said use progressive dynamic PD9260C. But there are 2- this and a PD79RR. Which do I need? We have 2 200 amp batteries now but will probably and another 200 when we add 600 w more solar panels. Does that matter?

The difference between the two models that you were researching is that the # PD9260C is designed for use with lead acid batteries and the # PD79RR is designed for use with lithium batteries. Choosing the incorrect battery profile can lead to issues charging your batteries so it's important to pick the right one for your setup.

If you have lead acid and want to change to lithium later on without having to also replace the converter then you'll want to go with the # PD79RR instead since it can handle both charging profiles.
