Will 60 Amp Progressive Dynamics 9300 Converter Charger Replace PD9260

Question:

I have a 2023 Jayco Greyhawk class C. It came with 200W Go Power solar panel and a Go Power GP-RVC-30-MPPT controller. Going to add the Go Power 200W overlander expansion kit. The batteries are 2 Harris 24D140. The GP99QR 2 should be nice replacements. My current converter is a Progressive Dynamics PD9260C 60A. As far as I can tell it is not configurable for lithium. So I was thinking of going with a Progressive Dynamics PD9360 with same amperage rating. Does that seem reasonable? Also do I need a DC-DC charger to protect the alternator from overheating?

Hi Jeff,

Nice choice with the 100 amp hour Go Power Lithium RV Battery # GP99QR as well as the Expansion Kit # 34282182. Also, you can absolutely replace your PD9260 with the PD9360 model that is compatible with lithium batteries, and our part number for that is the following:

- Progressive Dynamics 9300 Series RV Converter Charger - 12V - 60A # PD79RR

This is both a reasonable and quality upgrade to work with the lithium batteries. Then, to answer your last question, you do not need a DC-DC charger to protect the alternator from overheating.

@KyleS Installed the batteries and charger today with no issues. Installing the solar panel tomorrow. Everything is spot on so far. Real test of a road trip is coming. Thanks
