Will this strut also fit a Blue Ox Kargard II # BX88255? This item has been discontinued by Blue Ox. Their description is part # 227-0117 Gas Spring, 110#. It looks like the same part.

The Replacement Gas Strut for Roadmaster Tow Defender # RM-200023-50 only has a 65 lb rating so you'll need something closer to that 110 lb rating like one of the following:
- Universal Gas Strut - 107 to 117 lbs Force - 19-11/16" Extended Length - 8-1/4" Stroke # ATL94RR
- Universal Gas Strut - 107 to 117 lbs Force - 23" Extended Length - 10" Stroke # ATL53BR
I had reached out to my contact at Blue Ox for some more details on their older gas strut but all they could tell me is that it was rated for 110 lbs so you'll need to compare the length and stroke of each gas strut mentioned above with the Blue Ox you need to replace to see if it will work or not.
