I found a receiver but I'm confused on the trailer wiring for my 2024 GMC Canyon. Can you help me with this?

Absolutely, to install trailer wiring on your 2024 GMC Canyon you will need the Hopkins Multi-Tow 7-Way Blade and 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector # HM11141144. This uses a factory style connector so you will be able to place the connector easily in place of the factory cover on your bumper. Then you will simply wire in the included pigtail to the wires located behind your rear bumper.
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C78VV you found is confirmed to fit your Canyon.
If you are needing a trailer brake controller, I recommend the Redarc Liberty # RED52VR since it will give you a much cleaner appearance on your dash. This includes a pigtail for wiring to the terminated wires under you dash as there is not a plug and play option from the factory on your Canyon.
