This Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver gives you real towing power with a Class III rating and a 2" x 2" opening that works with most ball mounts, bike racks, and cargo carriers. It’s rated for 8,000 lbs maximum gross trailer weight and 800 lbs maximum tongue weight, or up to 10,000 lbs GTW and 1,000 lbs TW when used with weight distribution. The square-tube design is fully welded for strength you can rely on for towing small campers, boats, or utility trailers.
The hitch is made from sturdy, powder coated steel that stands up to rust and road grime. A gloss black powder coat finish over a protective base coat keeps the surface looking clean and resists corrosion over time. It’s strong enough for regular use while maintaining that clean look under the bumper.
You can bolt this hitch directly onto your vehicle’s frame—no welding or drilling needed. The precision, robotic welding ensures everything lines up right for a straightforward install. It’s designed for DIY installation using common tools, so getting set up for towing or hauling doesn’t need to be complicated.
The concealed cross tube means only the receiver is visible once installed. This keeps a tidy appearance at the back of your vehicle while still giving you full towing capacity. It blends in neatly under the bumper, so you get a strong hitch without the bulky look.

1 year later and this receiver is doing just fine, with some very minor nitpicks. My self install has been solid - no movement of any bolts, even after attempting a sand recovery of a half ton truck with my tiny Canyon. Everything is still rock solid. My one complaint - the finish on this receiver has started to flake off around the hitch mount’s outer edge and visibly rust. Some black high temp spray paint fixed it easily enough, but with the less than handful of times I’ve actually used the receiver, I’m surprised it started so soon. Still happy with my purchase a year later!
