1989 c1500 step side sport side frame width for hitch. What hitch fits? Unknown if fleetside and step side are same frame width for hitch?

The fit depends on what cab you have on your 1989 Chevy C1500. For Crew Cab models you need the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C14082.
For non-Crew Cab models you need the B&W Heavy-Duty Trailer Hitch Receiver # BWHDRH25124.
