Question:

I have a 2014 Toyota Highlander Limited which includes the towing prep package. The connector for the trailer lights is not under the driver side storage compartment like it is on earlier models. Where might I find it?

If your vehicle has a functional factory tow package there will be a connector at the rear of the vehicle behind the rear bumper. You may have to remove the trim panels to find it. I have made a diagram of the areas you should check for the OEM wiring connection point.

If the connection is not there, I recommend using the Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring for the Toyota Highlander, 2014 # C59236 which will allow you to splice into the OEM wiring in the back of the tail lights.
