Recommended SumoSprings for a Tandem Axle Trailer

Updated 11/05/2023 | Published 11/04/2023

Question:

I have a Jayco Eagle HT and Im looking at adding Sumosprings to the trailer. It is dual axle and each axle has a GVWR of 5145lbs. This is pretty close to the 5000lb cut off between the two versions. I dont want to make the ride too harsh so should I go with the 3000-5000lb rated springs? Thanks

No, you will want to go with the 5,000 lbs - 8,000 lbs SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs w/ Line Relocation Bracket item # SS26MV assuming your axles are under your leaf springs. If they're above your leaf springs you'll need Item # SS33HR.

SumoSprings use a system called progressive load control. The more weight you place on them the more they engage. This provides you with only the support you need when you need it. Since you are over 5,000 lbs you'll want to go with the higher rated system item # SS26MV. These are sold as a pair you will need one set per axle.
