Bumpy pavement and uneven roads can make towing a chore. These SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs w/ Line Relocation Bracket use a patented micro-cellular urethane material that compresses up to 65%–80% of its original height and rebounds fully. The progressive spring rate lets the suspension move freely on light loads while firming up as weight increases. The result is a smooth, comfortable tow that absorbs vibration and keeps the trailer stable over rough surfaces.
When the trailer is loaded down, control and stability matter most. Each spring provides 900 lbs of support at 50% compression, giving the suspension the extra help it needs for 5,000- to 8,000-lb single underslung axles. The added stiffness reduces sway, limits body roll in corners, and helps the trailer track straight even when wind or passing traffic pushes against it.
Adding support shouldn’t mean tearing the trailer apart. The kit includes two jounce-style springs, a line relocation bracket, mounting brackets, and hardware for a clean, bolt-on fit—no drilling required. It’s designed for 1-3/4" wide spring packs with 7-7/16" to 8-5/8" of clearance between the spring plate and frame, so it mounts up easily to a suspension that’s already in good shape.
Once installed, these springs just work. There’s no tubing to run or air pressure to monitor like with air bags. The closed-cell urethane won’t leak or rupture and delivers full memory rebound every time. That means less wear on the leaf springs, longer suspension life, and a consistent ride without extra upkeep.
Off-center loads or uneven terrain can make one side sag more than the other. Each SumoSpring works independently to balance out the trailer, helping maintain level stance and steady handling. The design also reduces the load on the leaf spring assembly and can slightly raise ride height for better ground clearance—all while keeping the trailer composed and predictable on the road.

Easy install on my 2012 Wolf Pup Travel Trailer. I am yet to take it out but the squeak from the leaf springs is gone and it feels much more stable walking around inside. I can’t wait to get it in the road! I gained about 1.5 inches of wheel well space to fender as noted by some other reviewers but my camper is near empty so loaded it will be perfect and I don’t mind having a bit more clearance as I have a low trailer to begin with. No spacers we’re needed for my camper. I would say also I have about .75-1 inch preload vs instructions which say recommended range is 1/4-.5 inches… again I felt OK installing and have used sumo springs in the past with good results.
Worked really well, definitely smoothed out the ride. We are finding significantly less chaos with the equipment in the trailer.
The only complaint I would have is trying to use the Sumo Spring for very small enclosed trailers. The STEEL MOUNT was too tall, to meet the relaxed position height, so we cut 1" out of the mount and re-welded together, and repainted. But other than the additional modification it worked great.
My order arrived quickly and correct. I appreciate the tracking emailed to me. The helpers went on easily and just like the video. My only modification was to remove the band on the rear spring. (A five minute task) The RV sits about 1 1/2 inches taller. I prefer this to flipping the axle in order to maintain a low center of gravity. In the picture, the springs actually are vertical when the RV is put back on the ground.
Worked great on our single axle trailer.
Added stability and capacity.
I added these to our 2022 Wolf Pup 16FQBL and they've been great! Super easy to install and make for a great ride.
I installed these items on my 2022 Forest River Wolf Pup travel trailer. These items were easy to install and has made a tremendous difference when towing. I’m very satisfied with these items.
The Sumosprings were very easy to install. I haven’t been on the road yet to answer what I think about them. I’m looking forward to go on a road trip to test them.
Instructions were straightforward and easy to follow. Installation took about 30 minutes. Noticeable difference in ride height of the trailer and stability.
Exactly as advertised, easy install, works great.
The single best upgrade for our toy hauler and the overall hauling experience. Buy these and install them asap!
We’re all of their trailer need you just need to contact the Trailer. They stand behind their word 100%.
As advertised Sumo springs dampen rough road ride a lot less side to side motion also
Pretty easy install on my tandem axel fifth wheel. I did have to add four additional 1" spacers, one for each spring, to get the additional 1/2" lift desired. To do this I had to buy longer M8X80 mm bolts. I haven't towed it yet but I expect them to perform as promised.
It is extremely hard for me to give this product a high rating because I was unable to install them. After making measurements before ordering them to be sure that they would fit, I purchased to sets for my tandem axle trailer. When they arrived, I determined the number of spacers needed, and in preparation for installation, bolted the springs to the Spring-Under Axle Bracket. I jacked up the trailer, set the first bracket with spring attached in place only to find that the long U-bolt would only project through the bracket approximately 1/8 of an inch, an inadequate distance to attach it with the washer and locknut. A trip to several local vendors failed to turn up a 5/16” U-bolt of the same width but longer. While the SumoSprings seemingly would improve the ride of my trailer, I had to return them due to this one component. I think the manufacturer should include different length U-bolts just as they supply different length bolts for use with the number of spacers needed.
Working great. Settled the bounce down and boosted the trailer capacity. It also gave me a piece of mind of what would happen if I broke another spring like I did before I bought these. Functional and added safety.
I got 2 sets of these 5K-8k Sumo springs. I have Sumo springs on my tow vehicle and they are great. items states they fit any axle but would not fit my Dexter 8K axles. These are made for 1 3/4 inch springs and mine are 2 inch. called Super spring and they do not have a bracket for 2 inch springs. I was able to make them work by have a machine shop modify the brackets to fit 2 inch springs. they seem to be doing a good job on my trailer.

It sounds like you may need longer ubolts. The ubolts labeled “H” in the instructions.
5 stars for the install. Probably same for ride when I head out this weekend. Love the tube of blue thread locker included. Instructions and install was a breeze. Preload set about 1/2”
