Features to know about

Stay Level and Confident: 2,000-lb Front Suspension Support

A heavy front load like a plow or winch can cause your suspension to sag and throw off steering and braking. These SumoSprings Solo helper springs add up to 2,000 lbs of support at 50-percent compression to keep your ride level and stable. They cushion bumps and shocks while helping your factory suspension handle the extra weight so steering feels steady and headlights stay properly aimed.

Smooth Out Every Mile: Progressive Load Control

Roads aren’t always perfect, and neither are the loads you carry. These microcellular urethane springs compress progressively—soft at first for lighter loads and firmer as weight increases. That means smooth engagement over small bumps but solid support when things get heavy. The result is a steadier, more comfortable ride whether you’re working or just driving every day.

Comparison image showing SumoSprings helper springs installed on a vehicle’s front axle, with one spring compressed under load and the other uncompressed, illustrating progressive load control performance.

Stay Steady in Crosswinds and Turns: Independent Spring Action

When a curve or uneven load pushes you off balance, each spring works on its own to keep that side planted. This helps cut down body roll and sway so your vehicle feels controlled through turns, crosswinds, or when pulling into uneven spots.

Built Tough to Handle the Elements: Durable Microcellular Urethane

These springs are made from closed-cell microcellular urethane that resists abrasion, oil, salt, and UV rays. They work in temperatures from -25°F to 200°F and compress vertically to avoid rubbing against nearby parts. With no air lines or maintenance needed, they’re designed for consistent performance season after season.

Install It Once and Go: Simple No-Drill Setup

No complex tools or special equipment needed—these helper springs mount directly in place with a no-drill design. It’s an easy way to upgrade front suspension support without running tubing or adjusting air pressure every trip.

Installation in a 2022 Sierra 2500HD was easy, used large Channel locks to remove factory, new ones popped in by blocking them with wood wedge while vehicle was jacked up and releasing jack quickly so all weight would come down at once.
Only have aprox 100 miles on new Bump Stops but ride feels smoother as they are engaged at rest, unlike factory that engage on bumps. Need more miles to fully review.

Springs are good, working well. My Tacoma is stock (no lift). With the front end jacked up and wheel/tires totally suspended I was not able to get the springs mounted. I had to cut off about 1/4 inch of threads to get them into position to screw then in. Once that was done everything was ok.

by:

Put these on a Sprinter and what a positive difference they made. One can still feel the poor shape of our roads but no more jarring as was the case before. Definitely worth it.

by:

Sumo Springs really helped with the bumps in the front of the 2019 Ford E350 Winnebago! Very happy with them. Super easy install even though a bit awkward to reach the spot.

by:

Very easy installation. Would be nice if they were about 2” longer to get contact sooner but they were a good replacement for the hollow stock bump stops.

by:

Springs arrived on time without any damage. Installation was completed in about a half hour with a 10mm socket, 3” extension and ratchet to remove the stock bump block on our Ford E450. Then just thread the Sumo Spring in place of the removed block. This was the easiest upgrade I’ve done so far.

by:

Super easy to install maybe 30 minutes for all 4
Fronts were done from above with wheel turned full right or left and load off that side with jack, rears jack to take off load only used large flat head screw drive to remove replace
improved side to side roll/sway ride is firmer went with the black capacity maybe yellow on rear if loads increase

by:

these look like the perfect thing for my tired old helper springs, I put SumoSprings on my rear axel of my Jeep a year ago and the have made that ride much better hoping for the same with these.

by:

Installed Sumo Springs on my 2019 Chevy 4500 motorhome, I was looking for ride improvement without breaking the bank. These days so many products are marketed well but never match the performance that was promised. That is not the case with Sumo Springs!!! I am very pleased with the ride improvement, sway is gone when transitioning from different levels of pavement and the shock of bumps is 50% better!! Installed myself on front and back in about 1 hour, front ended up about 3/8” higher after a couple days, got front end alignment done but didn’t need any adjustment. Finished a 400 mile road day today and my wife and I are very pleased. Excellent product!!

by:

I’ve made several purchases from eTrailer and have been satisfied every time! Recently bought front and rear Sumo helper springs. Installation was a breeze. They have helped reduce the side to side sway caused by wind, freeway traffic and rough roads. So far im very happy with them.

by:

What most new RV owners don't know is that the chassis that their new mobile home sits on barely has the equipment to support that new home. Adding SumpSprings is going to improve your ride and help support the structure of your home. FYI, use a jack on the leaf springs to help align the holes on the bracket to the ones on the frame.

by:

Installed front Sumosprings yesterday but have not driven vehicle yet. The front have full contact with the A-frames.
Should help with van side-to-side sway.
Shopping around for a set to install on the rear as well.

2006 Dodge Ram 3500 SRW 5.9 Cummins 4x2
Original
bump stops were dry rotted and almost not existent. Very easy install. Took about 30 minutes. The Sumo springs are engaged all the time. This may be due to the truck being a 4x2? You can feel the front end is stiffer over bumps and dips of the road, which I feel is ok and not extreme. Towing the 5th wheel I feel the truck handles better than before.

by:

Ordering and delivery was quick and easy. The SumoSprings really improved the ride of our C Class RV. The only problem was one of the springs had cross threaded threads so I had to tap the treads to make it work. They were delivered in a plain brown box with no manufacture information or instructions. It makes believe the were a returned item, the previous purchaser couldn't get them to work either. I just had the tools and skill to correct the problem.

by:

I recently purchased/installed SumoSprings for the front axle on my 2018 Thor Freedom Elite 28FE. Having previously purchased/installed SumoSprings for the rear axle I have to say that the overall improvement in ride/handling has exceeded my expectations. As always, etrailer provided valuable insights and prompt inquiries to my questions. The level of in-depth product knowledge amongst the etrailer staff is second to none. Thanks etrailer!

by:

Product is great, exceeded my expectations. Install is simple and straightforward. It’s a night and day difference in both the body roll and the handling small bumps all the way up to off-road conditions.

by:

I have a Workhorse W22 chassis. I installed steering dampeners and HD sway bar to reduce the "loose" steering. After installing the SumoSprings Front Spring helpers on the front end, 90% of the looseness on the front end disappeared. It is now a pleasure to drive. Very little sway from passing trucks and cross winds. I will be installing a set on the rear this year.

I think these work well , it has made the truck feel more stable when towing.

by:

Installed these on my 2010 GMC 3500HD diesel, install was relatively easy, noticed handling improvement on the first corner pulling my 30' fifth wheel camper

by:

Easy to install and fit as it should. There is a alignment pin that sticks up on the flat surface and lines up with a hole in the bump stop bracket on my GM truck. It would be nice if this alignment pin was longer as it barely catches in the hole since it is so short.

by:

The Sumospring bump stops were too thick to easily install on my Silverado 3500 classic 2wd . The supplied lock nuts and washer also difficult to install in the tite spot they are located in. It was much easier to reuse original nuts. The test ride was satisfactory. Time will tell on their durability.

by:

Just had PEP boys install (it was 22 degrees outside) both front and rear.

This review will be duplicated for the rear as well.
Excellent, been meaning to purchase and install on my 2007 GMC 2500HD Classic.
My pickup is now my weekend drive for the toy stores (Lowes, Home Depot...)

Immediate improvement on handling, turning and stopping. Have not connected a trailer to it yet.

Previous experience with Summo on 2005 E450 Shuttle Bus and a 2018 Thor Axis 25.5 RV.

  • Timbren Front and Rear Suspension Enhancement For a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
The Timbren # TGMRCK15S have an 8,600lb capacity while the Timbren # TGMRCK25S only have a 6,000lb capacity. If your 1999 Chevrolet Silverado is only used for occasional heavy loads I would go with the 6,000lb kit otherwise the 8,600lb kit will provide you with the best support if you always have heavy loads. For the front we have the 2WD # TGMFK25S or 4WD # TGMFK15A Timbren springs. These are primarily best when using a snow plow as they have a very heavy 14,000lb capacity. The SumoSprings...

  • Dimensions of SumoSprings SSF-201-47 and SSR-610 40
The dimensions of just the jounce spring itself of the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Spring Kit # SSR-610-40 are 4 inches tall x 3 inches in diameter. These dimensions are without the included bracket and with the spring under no pressure. The # SSF-201-47 is 2-3/4 inch horizontal and 3-1/4 inch vertical.

  • Recommended Front Suspension Enhancement for 2007 Chevy 2500 with Snow Plow
For your heavy snowplow, I recommend the Timbren Front Suspension Enhancement System # TGMFK25S over the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs - Front Axle # SSF-201-47. The Timbren Aeon Rubber springs are simply rated for weights 7x larger and they work in the same way as the helper springs, yet offer more support on the front end, so that first inch gets more support and you don't feel the drop when raising your snow blade.

  • What Front/Rear Axle Suspension do You Recommend for Towing up to 20,000 Pounds on a 2009 GMC 2500?
I have a great suspension solution for you. While towing a trailer that weighs 17,000-20,000 pounds and other heavy setups on your 2009 GMC Sierra 2500HD, the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs - Double Convoluted # F2250 will technically provide you with a bit of support on your rear axle. However, with the amount of weight you are hauling, I strongly recommend the Firestone Ride-Rite Red Label Extreme Duty Air Helper Springs - Rear Axle # F2700. Since the Red Label springs have a...

  • Fitment of Front End Suspension Coils On a 2007 GMC Sierra 2500HD Classic
Super Springs does offer a Medium Duty Front Suspension Helper # SSF-201-47. This also is a no drill application, that reduce front-end sag and help the existing springs support a load. According to SuperSprings website the # SSC-23 are not a fit for you 2007 GMC Sierra 2500HD. I have linked all the Front-End suspension enhancement for your Sierra 2500HD for your convenience.

  • Front Suspension Enhancement For a 2008 Chevrolet Suburban LTZ
It sounds like your 2008 Chevrolet Suburban is a 1500 series as I do not see that they made an LTZ trim on the 2500. The Coil SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs # CSS-1125F and Timbren Front Suspension Enhancement System # TGMFK15B are the 2 kits that we have for the front of your Suburban that are confirmed to fit. Both kits will work with the factory air ride and without bump stops. The SumoSprings # SSF-201-47 are only for the heavier 2500 chassis Suburban's. The Timbren # TGMFK15B...

  • Front Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for 2006 GMC Sierra 3500 without Plow
The Timbren kit part # TGMFK25S that you referenced is a confirmed fit for your 2006 GMC Sierra 3500 but it's for severe duty applications so for you it would be very harsh. It would give you the support you want but at the cost of a very harsh ride quality. A better option would be the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs - Front Axle # SSF-201-47 which gives you the support you would need but isn't so rigid so it wouldn't be nearly as harsh riding. Since you don't have a plow or heavy...

  • Front SumoSprings Recommended for 2007 Silverado 3500 Classic With Heavy Slide In Truck Camper
We typically only recommend front suspension enhancement products for vehicles with heavy brush guards/winches or snow plows, but with a heavy camper in your truck bed, using a front SumoSpring Solo application would be an excellent idea. You'll want to use part # SSF-201-47, which would absolutely reduce body roll in turns that can be caused by having a heavy slide in camper, especially if the camper is on the tall side.

  • Will the SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs Kit # SSF-201-47 Fix Damged Torsion Bars
The SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs Kit # SSF-201-47 should only be used on a vehicle that has proper functioning suspension. If you have weak or damaged torsion springs I would recommend you have them replaced before you install this product. These would not fix the problem you have as they are only designed for additional support. Not to be used as a bandaid for damaged suspension. We do not have access to information on what the stock ride height would be for your truck.
